Overview

UIC sought to update the Thompson Room's aging lighting system, which was experiencing inconsistent performance, dimming issues, and an outdated look. The university wanted a modern solution that would improve both functionality and aesthetics while remaining compatible with its existing lighting controls.

Key Challenge

The project required replacing outdated fluorescent fixtures while ensuring seamless integration with the room's existing Lutron dimming system. The space also needed a clean, modern design suitable for a highly utilized conference area.

IES supplied Lumenwerx VIA 4 Direct/Indirect LED Pendants in Black, replacing 72 outdated fluorescent fixtures in the Thompson Room.

The upgrade resolved lighting and dimming issues while delivering a brighter, more modern conference space. The new system integrates seamlessly with UIC's existing Lutron controls, providing reliable performance and a refreshed look for one of the university's primary meeting areas.
