JFK Terminal 1 Gear & Participation Project

Project Highlight

Overview

Industrial Electric Supply was engaged to source electrical sub-metering, panelboards, enclosed circuit breakers, disconnects, SPDs, and switchboards for a major infrastructure project at JFK International Airport.

Working from the latest drawing sets, IES provided submittals and coordinated closely with stakeholders and the design team to support evolving project requirements and ensure material alignment with specifications.

What We Delivered

The project required strict coordination across multiple stakeholders, evolving design requirements, and aggressive MWBE participation goals, while maintaining procurement timelines for a large-scale redevelopment effort.

IES Role:

  • Procured downstream electrical gear equipment

  • Managed submittals and reporting

  • Coordinated with stakeholders and design teams

  • Oversaw storage, shipment, and logistics

  • Performed side car metering sub-assembly

  • Provided complete project management support

Results

By leveraging its in-house assembly capabilities, IES secured approval to provide 100% diverse participation credit on side car metering sub-assemblies.

This approach increased overall MWBE participation on the project from the standard 60% to nearly 75%, resulting in $14M+ in MWBE participation while supporting skilled local manufacturing jobs.

The project was delivered successfully, reinforcing IES’s ability to provide end-to-end solutions for complex, large-scale infrastructure work.
